Day 1: The briefing at Spreyton

The 2012 Tasmania Police Charity Ride was an absolute success on all fronts.

We had the best weather in the 8 years history of the ride, a great bunch of riders and a fabulous fundraising effort saw the total soar to 50 thousand dollars.

Thank you for all your support leading up to the ride; your donations, time, smiles and encouragement meant the world to me. I thoroughly enjoyed riding, climbing and sweating my way from Spreyton to the Police Academy in Rokeby.

Day 1: On our way to Poatina

The organisation was faultless, and as usual the driving force of constable Richard Douglas (Doogs) made sure that all was going to plans, and we do forgive him for forgetting to hire a bulldozer to flatten some of the hills for us!

We were very lucky to be greeted at the Academy by our families and friends, and also by an enthusiastic group of “ Bright Stars” that performed an energetic dance for us to the tune of Greased Lightning.

Day 1: made it!

I was pretty emotional during the thank you speeches, as I realized that what we do can help ( even if just a little ) to support and better the lives of children in need. It felt real, and it made me absolutely determined to keep myself healthy and strong so I can ride again in 2013.

The ride is already planned and we will go from Cradle Mountain to Hobart via Strahan and Tarraleah. We are assured to encounter a few hills there!

So that’s my long term plan for 2013.

Day 2: Campbelltown

Having a set goal will give me even more reasons to train with my friends ,and staying focused on what’s important (riding my bike really).

It doesn’t matter what you want to work towards to in the new year; keep it simple, write it down, make a plan, enlist the support of family and friends and go for it!

Better still: need my help and support? Send me an email or call me. Let’s have a strong coffee together, and talk about how I can help you to make your own success.
